Monitor cracks as a warning signal for further deterioration

Detect Issues

Crack noted on wall at lintel height.

Describe Issues

Crack if not treated at right time, can increase in depth and lead to further deterioration in the affected area. This crack is non structural in nature. It will not cause any immediate affect to the occupants but can affect adversely in future. It also has negative aesthetic impression.

Direct Solutions

We recommend:
Step 1 : Making 2 mm groove along the crack till the depth of plaster.
Step 2 : Cleaning & Sealing the crack with ready to use ‘crack seal’ as per manufacturer’s specification.
Step 3 : Primer & paint finishing as per manufacturer’s specification.

Meaning of Lintel

A horizontal support of timber, stone, concrete, or steel across the top of a door or window.

Minor gap in joints can be a path for moisture flow / seepage

Detect Issues

Significant paint deterioration and damp on wall plaster surface above skirting and subsequent deterioration of door frame noted. Area affected due to moisture intrusion from unfilled gaps between wall tile and skirting tile joints in the adjacent bathroom.
